Character: Enoch
Source: OFF
Appearance: A large, pale obese man in a white dress shirt and black slacks. He also sports a black tie. He is bald and things. A BEAUTIFUL PICTURE
History: Enoch’s origins are a mystery. The game shows us that he was once a jolly and patient man with a love for sweets. It also implies that he was rescued from a giant hole by Hugo, the Batter’s son. He, Japhet, and Dedan befriended the small child and subsequently became Guardians of the three Zones.

Enoch himself created the fifth element of the Zones, sugar, and became the Director of the Sugar Factory. Things went well at first, though it wouldn’t take long until Enoch discovered something peculiar about sugar. It was extremely addictive, and his worker Elsen craved the substance until they were completely incapable of functioning without it.

As time went on, Enoch no longer cared for the sake of all the Zones and the ‘world’ that had been created, disregarding the Queen’s instructions in order to focus solely upon his own Zone. The Spectres, he informed the Elsen, were benevolent creatures and would not bother anyone. After all, the more Elsen that got themselves killed… well, the more bodies Enoch had to use. Sugar, after all, was made in part by the ashes of burned Elsen corpses.

When the Batter arrives, Enoch proclaims himself to be something like a god. After a chase scene ensues, a battle occurs between the two, and Enoch is suddenly even more enormous in size, with the Batter and his Add-Ons being little more than ants before him. The Batter strikes off Enoch’s head, and before he fades, Enoch tells him that by purifying him, Zone 3 will cease to exist. All of the Elsen, too, will fall into nothingness, whether they deserve it or not. With that, he dies, and Zone 3 is purified.

Timeline: Just after his death and the purification of Zone 3.

Personality: Enoch is a large and smiling man, a toothy grin always affixed on his face while he speaks with a voice like thunder. There is something unsettling about him. Perhaps it has to do with his immense size, and the fact that he could very easily crush most people beneath his thumb without the slightest bit of effort on his part. He can be seemingly gentle in his demeanor, speaking down to people. Rather than using intimidation, like Dedan, or fear, like Japhet, to control his Elsen, Enoch is content to drug them into a state of contentment. Sugar is promised if his little workers go about their business as though everything’s fine, though denying them sugar does have the unfortunate effect of causing them to Burn.

It is also clear by the way that he engages the Batter in battle and pursues him that Enoch is not afraid to take action if necessary. Of course, physical exercise isn’t something he’s very used to, but when he’s been angered, well… we’ll just say Enoch is not a man who allows himself to be walked over. Indeed, he compares himself and the other Guardians to gods, clearly proud of his power and seeing himself as superior to other, lesser creatures, namely Elsen.

It is interesting to note that out of all the Guardians, Enoch is the only one to create his own Element, rather than simply harvesting it from other sources. He is both protective and proud of this process, even if it does result in using the bodies of his very own workers. Somewhere during his time of being a Guardian, Enoch has become corrupt

Abilities: Enoch’s fat, apparently, makes him impervious from any real damage, and his massive amount of health means he can take quite a bit of abuse. For some reason, he is completely immune to poison attacks. His stamina is poor, however, and if one were to wear him out through physical activity, he becomes beatable. Below is a list of his moves in-game and a description of what they do.

Law of Causation – Inflicts Poison
Dramatic Crescendo – Attacks CP directly. CP is sort of like Spell Power/Points in most games. No CP = no special moves.
Dramatic Irony – Casts Furious. Makes the inflicted target fly into an uncontrollable rage, forcing them to do nothing but attack over and over.
Trigger Element – Basic attack. Inflicts 200 damage.
Climax – Basic attack that deals 80 damage to the entire party.

Enoch can also change sizes at will. The game originally shows him as much, much larger than the Batter. During the boss battle, he practically triples in size to better show his fury.

Inventory: A ton of sugar. No, seriously. Sugar. It’s not quite an ever-lasting bag, but it’s pretty dang close.

Prose Sample: This little village was far from the worst thing that could have happened to the Guardian. In retrospect, the change of scenery was almost nice. Even shrunk down, Enoch was still too big to fit comfortably inside of the crofts that the other villagers called home, so he spent a good amount of time within the Library. A pity Japhet wasn’t here—he surely would have enjoyed so many books.

He wasn’t here to read, leaning idly against a nearby wall even as he allowed his mind to wander. Yes, it was too easy to pretend being a kind and helpful soul here, always willing to lend an ear or a hand to whomever needed one. Was there anything to gain from usurping this little village, though? That, he hadn’t quite made up his mind about.

But this so called Queen. His slight smile tugged a bit wider even as he hummed to himself. He had served a Queen before. And with Queens came power—and with power, opportunity. Yes, it might do him very well to take up a similar role as he had before. After he had power… well, that was one step closer to placing him back in his proper place in the world.

Surely this world could benefit from a Director of something.

Journal Sample: Hm hm.

[The voice is like a deep roll of thunder, a low and rattling hum. The giant white being is currently seated outside of the temple, peering at its roof as though wondering why, exactly, it’s so small. This was certainly not Nothingness. And, a quick pat at his doughy neck informs him that his head is still quite firmly attached. A relief.

This isn’t Zone 3. In fact, this isn’t a place he recognizes at all, what with the wooded forests billowing up around them in every direction. He can even spy little buildings not too far from here, and Enoch is fairly bewildered by his current circumstances. There aren’t any frantic wheezing breaths from what he can hear, so there must not be Elsen nearby. ]

A predicament. [It’s another grumble of sound, thoughtful and perhaps pleased. Predicaments, he can work with. Oh yes.]
